So beware that if you have a problem the after sales service and customer care is not what it should be. Shame really as they’re not bad wheels for the money. ago 1.5kg for his 58cm frame, and 7. how much did it weigh Really curious for 1k bike. I decided to cut my losses, keep the wheels and try to sell them on. TL DW the frames and wheels are pretty decent, but go name brand for moving parts (groupset, etc.) evilpirateguy 2 yr. The upshot is that I risk losing my money and being substantially out of pocket. They want me to send the wheels back at my expense and they stipulate that they take no responsibility for loss or damage. When I finally managed to get them to understand the problem they agreed to send me the wheels I had ordered but asked me to resell their wheels and they were going to charge me!! I declined their offer and eventually they agreed to a refund given that they hadn’t actually got 23mm wheels and we’re going to get them manufactured but couldn’t tell me how long this would take. When I emailed them they eventually responded that 23mm and 25mm tyres fit all of their wheels!! They completely misunderstood the issue. I ordered the 23mm wheels as I have very limited brake clearance on my bike not an uncommon problem with TT and Tri bikes. On the face of it they looked good value and they advertised the wheels with an external rim width of either 23mm or 25mm. I ordered a set of carbon wheels for my TT/Tri bike. That being said, I have yet to try chinese handlebars, but I might give a highly recommended chinese brand a try at some point.Beware. Most people are, they occasionally charge a little extra and in turn, you save the time and might get a warranty out of it. Edit: there's nothing wrong with being a reseller at all. I've found much success even with smaller brands, but I do need to do a lot more research than just going with a standard brand like Dengfu, Hongfu, etc (note, Velobuild is just a reseller as well, you can buy the same frames for cheaper, but have to do your own research so it takes more time. Based on the answers you get when you contact the seller, it should either instill confidence or fear so you'll know which way to go. I've only purchased from companies that have a return policy (usually free for a few weeks), have testing done on the frames (stress testing, etc), and have a warranty of >1 year. I would recommend sending a seller a message asking about their warranty, return policy, and quality assurance. I have my frames custom painted from the sellers, so I get my own color and my own "brand" on it too. I have found lots of success in many different brands, either what has been mentioned, or just buying from Aliexpress or Alibaba. It's a carbon-aluminium friction interface which just doesn't have enough capacity for my kind of riding, even with carbon paste and the recommended torque. There's ways around this but you can still improve the design by making the piece accommodate a cable liner.ģ) My biggest issue by far: the top of the seatpost connection to the saddle is bad if you're a heavy rider and you have your saddle all the way forward. The Hongfu one isn't wide enough for a thin cable liner so the calbe has to be exposed on the outside and rub directly with the plastic piece, so not great for cable friction. That being said it's a pretty complex shape so maybe it isn't easy to manufacture a stiff one, but I'd expect it to be glued on better.Ģ) This is just a minor comment but I prefer the front mech cable junction thing below the bottom bracket on a Trifox rather than the Hongfu one. When I peeled it off completely, it was super flexible and felt pretty cheap. It became an issue because once my chain got dropped then it often got trapped by that protector plate, so it isn't doing its job properly. The anti-chain-suck protector plate next to the bottom bracket, where the chainstay interfaces with the bottom bracket, wasn't glued on very well and started peeling off after I dropped/ chain-sucked my chain a couple of times. Other than those the bike was great (but I don't have much experience of owning different bikes) I've had a few issues which I've listed below but I tend to ride my bike really hard in UK conditions so you may not have these.
